All of this is done under the supportive management of Laura Hughes. We couldn’t be more delighted to share one of our ‘5-minute interviews’ with one of the longest serving members of the Hair Solved team. So please do take a few moment to say ‘hello’ to Laura.
Q1. How long have you worked at Hair Solved? Has your role changed over the years?
I almost can’t believe it, but I have worked at Hair Solved for nine and a half years! I started as a designer, then started to watch and style and then became the manager. I am really proud to say that I have been doing that role for 7 years.
Q2. What did you do before?
I worked in a gym and did hairdressing in a regular salon. It wasn’t as emotional or as much fun as it is working at Hair Solved, but I wouldn’t change it! Everything is a learning experience.
Q3. What attracted you to Hair Solved as an employer?
I just loved what they did and needed to be involved. Since I started working at the Manchester Salon I’ve wanted to get better and better each day.
This applies to every aspect of my job in what I do for clients and what I can do for the team.
Q4. How important is the relationship you have with the rest of the team?
I love my team!
We support each other every day. I have a really good relationship with the girls. Not only are they great work colleagues but we are friends too. This really contributes to the warm and friendly atmosphere in the salon. What could be more joyous than working with good friends.
Q5. As a Manager how do you feel you support the team?
I’m always here for them all and they all know that. I make no secret that I will help whenever they need me, and I will support them to grow in their own roles at Hair Solved.
Q6. What do you enjoy most about working at Hair Solved?
That is a very easy question to answer.
The team are like family and the clients are all lovely. My relationship with clients is important to me and I think that they all know that I treat everyone the same way. It is important to me that we maintain a high level of customer service and care. I also feel my skills develop every day and this is such a rewarding part of my job. I always want to keep learning, developing, and improving everything we do.

Q7. Do you find it difficult to explain to friends and family what your job is?
Not at all, I don’t find it difficult to explain about my work or the hair system. I am very open about my job and proud to do my job to the best of my ability.
Q8. Do you find that customers get emotional when you talk to them about hair loss?
There have been many times tears have been shed over the years between me and clients about hair and life. I truly feel like we help each other. I give people confidence and advice and vice versa! We all have a very special relationship with clients.
Q9. How do clients react to their new hair?
They love their hair. I have made hundreds if not close to a thousand systems and only ever removed one because the client wasn’t ready.
Q10. What do you like to do to relax?
In my spare time I like to relax at home and have nice food and wine.
On Sundays I love to have family time, days out are important to me. We try and take Olivia out each week to a different place.
I especially love to go to my family home for Sunday dinner after family day!
